Studio; 601 N 3rd

Service Description

If you've wanted to deepen into a dance practice, particularly with other people, you are invited to join us for these explorative Contact Improv workshops. This is an open space for folks to explore the fundamentals of contact improv, which is a movement practice based in intuitive movement with another. Rooted in consent, these workshops are a place for you to get to explore your own relationship to movement and dance in a playful, supportive atmosphere and at the pace of your own needs. These sessions will begin with a workshop that will explore the fundamentals of contact improv, followed by an open movement jam space. You are invited to bring a friend you like dancing with! Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in; some folks like wearing kneepads for exploring floorwork but that is entirely optional. These workshops are led by Niikah and Keats, who are both avid lovers of contact dance. They are excited to keep building a community of folks who are interested in also sharing this movement practice on a regular basis. Upcoming dates: November 17th at 3:30pm $10-$20 suggested donation
